Meet Natalie, Our New BOOKED Trips Fellow!

We are so excited to announce that our team has expanded. Welcome Natalie Sifuma, our new BOOKED Trips Fellow. In her new position she will serve as a trip host and facilitator for our upcoming April 16-26, 2026 BOOKED Trips South Africa and August 5-16, 2026 Kenya and Zanzibar trips. Natalie was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and will be getting a Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town giving her the perfect blend of lived, travel, and educational experiences in both places that is sure to enhance the traveler journey.
Natalie is a BOOKED Trips alumni, strategic communications specialist, and climate storyteller with a decade of experience working with global organizations, donors, startups, and consulting firms across the Global Majority. She has led communications campaigns, managed media relations, and coordinated digital content across diverse platforms and audiences.

A creative at heart, Natalie is passionate about using storytelling as a tool to shape policy and reform governance models. She is the Founder of Sisters in Climate, an initiative strengthening climate literacy and Pan-African ecofeminist perspectives. Natalie is a 2024 Aspen Ideas Fellow and will begin an MPhil in Inclusive Innovation at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business in February 2026.

Beyond her professional work, Natalie is a reader and writer, with fiction published in literary magazines, including Omenana, The Kalahari Review, and the Equipoise: 2020 Anthology. She is also an avid traveler who has visited over 25 countries across five continents, an experience that inspired the launch of Talking Through Travel, a personal travel vlog where she shares stories from past journeys and practical insights picked up along the way.

When asked what she’s most excited about in this role, Natalie said “I’m excited to see the places that are familiar to me with new company and to boast my Kenyan hospitality. I’m PanAfrican through and through, so very excited to be part of two BOOKED Trips’ experiences on the continent.”
It wouldn’t be BOOKED Trips if we didn’t get some book recommendations. Here are some of Natalie’s favorites: For lovers of short stories, I’ve loved The Woman with the Bouquet by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt both times I’ve read it. The other that stayed with me for reasons beyond its peculiar name is What It Means When a Man Falls from the Sky by Lesley Nneka Arimah.
Say hello to Natalie at nsifuma@bookedtrips.com and join her on one of our 2026 South Africa and Kenya and Zanzibar trips!
